BDP001

BDP001 is a 1/16” diameter tapered ballnose with a 3/4” LOC  on a 1/4” shank, 3” OAL with 0.0312” radius and 3 degree taper per side

BDP002 is a 1/8” diameter tapered ballnose with a 1-1/2” LOC on a 1/4” shank, 3” OAL with a 0.0625” radius and 1degree taper per side.

BDP003 is a 1/4” diameter straight ballnose with a 1-1/2” LOC on a 1/4” shank, 3” OAL with a 0.125” radius

ZRN Coatings

ZRN is a PVD coating applied to a cutting tools to improve its physical properties. ZRN, Zirconium Nitride coatings provide three main benefits; protect the cobalt binder, increase surface hardness and add lubricity to the surface.

The coating has a Micro-Hardness of about 80+ Rc where the base carbide is about 70-76 Rc range, this increase provides abrasion resistance which allows cutting edges to stay sharper longer.

The lubricity means lower coefficient of friction on the surface of the tools whereby requiring less force to generate chips, less heat build up and easy release of chips from the tool.

These factors are designed to increase tool life 2 to 3 times and promote better finishes at a minimal cost over standard tools.
